2019 WDF World Cup Preview
This Monday, October 7, sees the opening ceremonies for the 2019 WDF World Cup. The event takes place in the Romanian city of Cluj-Napoca, right in the heart of Transylvania! This year’s tournament is the biggest ever, with teams from 55 different countries taking part in the men’s, women’s and youth World Cups.
Once again, the US Team is there, and ready to go. On the back of some impressive displays in recent World Cups. there is no reason for both teams not to be contending for medals. The men’s and women’s teams have plenty of World Cup experience, with both featuring a World Cup newcomer.
Washington’s Kevin Luke is the first-timer alongside Joe Chaney, Jim Widmayer, and Jerry Van Loan, while Stacey Pace (Colorado) makes her debut, joining the experienced trio of Marlise Kiel, Cali West, and Robin Curry. Okay, this is Robin’s first time PLAYING on the team, but she was Team Manager in both Turkey and Japan! Tom Sawyer and Matt Stoner are the two Team Managers this year.
Play starts on Tuesday with the Men’s Singles and Women’s Pairs.
