It is with great sadness that we report the passing of long-time star of the ADO, and one of the great characters of darts, Dave Kelly.

From Malden, MA, Dave represented the United States with distinction for many years, and reached the semi-finals of the Winmau World Masters in 1991. When the PDC (then WDC) was founded in the early 1990’s, Dave was one of the early converts, and in fact, was one of the select few players to compete in both the BDO and PDC World Championships.

On a personal note, Dave Kelly was a great friend, and I had to opportunity to play with Dave on a number of occasions. My favorite personal memory was when we won the Men’s 301 Doubles at the 1994 North American Open, beating Bob Anderson and Shayne Burgess in a thrilling final.

ADDENDUM : We have also learned of the sad passing of Quakertown, PA’s Charles Cressman, one of the leading Americans of the 1980’s.

Our thoughts are with the family and friends of both Dave and Charles.
