William Hill World Championship Preview

Tomorrow (December 15) sees the start of the 2020/21 William Hill World Championship. Held at the Alexandra Palace in London, this is the PDC’s flagship event, and runs until January 3.

There are 96 players competing, including two Americans; Florida’s Danny Baggish is returning, and will be joined by Indiana’s Danny Lauby, who is making his World Championship debut.

Lauby, takes to the stage on Thursday (December 17), and is the third match of the evening session (starting at 6pm local time) against England’s Ryan Searle. Baggish, meanwhile, has to wait until Saturday (December 19) to join the action. The 2019 North American Champion faces Australian Damon Heta.

There are two Canadians, Jeff Smith and Matt Campbell, on show, and Paul Lim is back again – 38 years after his first appearance in a World Championship!

Michael van Gerwen is top seed, ahead of reigning champ Peter Wright, and the in-form Gerwyn Price.
