Mr. Vegas Grand Slam of Darts – Days 3 & 4
American hopes for a Grand Slam of Darts titlist were ended as Leonard Gates failed to match the consistency of eventual group winner, Martin Lukeman. At 2-2, the match was finely balanced, but ‘Soulger’ could win just one leg out of the last four.
Two reigning World Champions joined Gates on the sidelines, but both Luke Humphries and Beau Greaves finished their campaigns with a win. So too did Ross Smith, who knocked out Connor Scutt in a winner-take-all finale, but former World Champion finished bottom of his group.
Today saw other former World Champions taking an early bath, in the shape of Michael van Gerwen and Michael Smith, although Gary Anderson and Stephen Bunting safely negotiated the Group Stage.
This means that the sixteen players advancing to the knockout are:
Group A – James Wade, Mickey Mansell
Group B – Danny Noppert, Cameron Menzies
Group C – Martin Lukeman, Rob Cross
Group D – Ritchie Edhouse, Ross Smith
Group E – Jermaine Wattimena, Mike De Decker
Group F – Luke Littler, Dimitri Van den Bergh
Group G – Gary Anderson, Ryan Joyce
Group H – Gian van Veen, Syephen Bunting
