Tomorrow (Friday) sees the start of the 2024 Lakeside World Championship. The highlight of the WDF calendar takes place at the famous Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green, Surrey.

A total of 84 players – men, women, and youth – will be in action, and this year, there are four Americans involved. Florida’s Paula Murphy is returning in her quest for the women’s crown. The multi-US National Champ starts her campaign on Sunday, December 1. She will be the fourth game of the afternoon session against late replacement, Paula Jacklin. The session starts at 1.00pm local time (8.00am Eastern).

After narrowly missing out on a spot two years ago, Jason Brandon comes in as the 11th seed. The man from Tennessee has a long wait to sample the Lakeside atmosphere, as he doesn’t get to throw a dart until next Wednesday afternoon! There, he faces the winner of the Laszlo Kadar/Hannes Schnier clash.

Three games before Paula takes to the stage on Sunday, Kevin Luke kicks off the afternoon session (1.00pm local) against Belgian Sybren Gijbels. Luke makes the long trip from Washington State for th second time in three years.

The third of the men’s trio is Jeff Springer Jr. Springer is a close neighbor of Kevin Luke, hailing from Seattle, and earned his trip thanks to a string of brilliant performances in the Lakeside Playoffs in Hungary last month. Jeff opens the Sunday evening session against Aaron Turner. The match is due at 7.00pm local (2.00pm Eastern).
