New Brunswick’s Jeff Smith captured his second bet365 North American Championship with a last-leg victory against fellow Canadian Matt Campbell.

The first five legs went with the darts before Smith broke serve to open up a 2-leg gap. Campbell broke straight back in 13, and then held the throw to make it 4-4. The remaining legs all went to the player throwing first, and so it was Smith who took the win.

Smith did look in deep trouble in the first round when Jim Long stuck in a 10-darter (after opening with back-to-back 180’s) to put himself one leg from victory. It wasn’t to be though, as his opponent snatched the last three legs to advance.
